Green tea extract and weight management: what to know

A look at green tea extract, the weight management research and what to check before taking it.

By My Store Admin · Published

Green tea extract appears in many supplements, including products sold for weight management. It contains compounds from tea leaves, such as catechins and caffeine. The amounts vary between products.

What does the research say?

The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health reports that green tea’s catechins and caffeine may have a modest effect on body weight. Results vary with the product and a person’s activity level.

For everyday weight management, focus on eating habits and regular activity you can keep up over time.

Why we use tea-derived caffeine

In STING, tea-derived caffeine provides a measured caffeine serving. Each sachet contains 100mg, blended with NSW Manuka honey and Himalayan rock salt. We make STING for training and everyday use.

Before taking green tea supplements

Check the label for the serving size and caffeine amount. Include caffeine from coffee, tea and other products when working out your daily intake.

Green tea extracts can cause side effects and interact with medicines. If you take medication or have a health condition, speak with your doctor before using them.
